About Me!
Hello, I’m Anna. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Health Service Management at Indiana University Indianapolis (IUI). This website gives you insight into why I chose to pursue a degree in Health Service Management and how my experiences have shaped that decision.
Why Health Services Management?
Before pursuing this degree, I was on track to earn a nursing degree. However, I found some of the required courses to be challenging, which made me begin to question whether nursing was the right path for me. I also felt anxious because I had always envisioned myself in healthcare and struggled to see another career option. After speaking with an exploratory advisor and sharing that I still wanted to remain in the healthcare field, she introduced me to health service management, which immediately sparked my interest. I realized that I could still help patients and improve their experiences when they visit their doctors, just from a different perspective. With the guidance of my advisor and after taking an Introduction to Public Health course, I discovered that Health Service Management was the right fit for me
